How to Create a Cleaning Checklist Tempalate for Vacation Rental
Creating a cleaning checklist for a vacation rental is a little bit different than creating a normal cleaning checklist especially if the building is a hotel or a resort. Different areas need to be checked and cleaned thoroughly especially for VIP rooms. Guests will complain if they see anything dirty inside their rooms when they have paid for it.
A vacation rental place can be a hotel, a resort, a villa, etc. For all of these places, they usually have cleaners that will clean the room once the guests checked out every day in the afternoon.
With different guests checking in and out every day, there is only limited time in cleaning all the rooms. That’s why, big hotels and resorts, usually have many cleaners or staff in the housekeeping department to do the job together. If you are the housekeeping manager, you can create a template for your staff to be used when they are cleaning the room.
As the SOP of the job, they can all be included in the checklist so everything is done properly for each room. If they have a balcony, they will also need to be cleaned while they are cleaning the area.
For a vacation rental space, using a cleaning checklist can make it easier for the cleaners in setting up the room, such as making the bed, vacuuming the carpet, cleaning the balcony area, cleaning the bathroom area, restocking the soap and shampoo bottles, and many more. They can all be included in the checklist for the cleaners to mark off when they are doing the room.
If some of the rooms have additional amenities that need to be added, they can be included in the checklist too. This could apply to VIP rooms such as the penthouse that might have more rooms inside the villa, etc.
